Description
I was walking through a marshy section of Gulf Islands National Seashore when I was surprised to see this American Bittern perched in a bush about six feet from me. I had never seen one that close before and even more surprised that it didn’t seem the least bit nervous about me being so close. I shot a few shots and quickly moved on feeling quite privileged to have the experience.
