Description
This little baby alligator does have a care in the world as it sleeps atop its mothers back, This mama gator had chosen to sun in the high grass along the Wakulla River but there was just enough room between to get a good shot of one of its offspring. Mama gators are actually very good moms and pretty darn protective of their young. Baby gators vocalize through “chirps” and do so quickly if they feel they are in danger. I’ve been around many babies over the years and had them chirp for mom but, so far, I have never been threatened by the mother, but I’m sure if I got too close and acted in a threatening manner, the mom would not hesitate to “let me know” to move along.
