Description
This young gator is living a hard life, self-banished to the areas the big gators do not want. Thickly wooded, shallow water, less available food, less available sunlight which they need to regulate their body temperature, and just a low-rent neighborhood. The good news is this small-fry (between 4-5 feet) has survived the most dangerous part of its life where they are preyed upon by nearly every other critter in the swamp, and if it can stay out of a squabble with larger gators it may one day claim title to significantly better territory. It is a survivor; something the vast majority of its nestmates cannot claim.
