Description
You can see the sun almost ready to break the horizon in the distance on this golden morning at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge. I was so intrigued with this simple scene because it reminded me of the type of scene Andrew Wyeth captured so beautifully with paint, (minus humans). Very simply composed but so rich in tiny details such as the tiny trickle of the stream as it filters out of the marsh at low tide. Also, the muted colors of the grass, the pock-marked mud, and little bits of marsh “stuff”. Of course, the one thing an image cannot capture is the smell of the salt marsh at dawn, but it can bring those memories back into your mind.
