Description
I came upon this colorful autumn scene while backpacking the Pinhoti Trail in N.E. Alabama. The mixture of elements made me think potpourri, but thankfully, without the nasty smell of potpourri. I much prefer the actual smell of nature! Autumn is definitely my favorite time of year with the crisp, cool air, beautiful colors, and the falling leaves. I love to find a fallen tree to sit on, wait 20-30 minutes for things to get quiet again and watch the woods come alive with squirrels, birds, and the occasional deer or coyote if I sit long enough and if I'm lucky.
